I was on the internet today trying to search out a skip hire cost for my employer today when I found out the cheapest ones to hire are in the United Kingdom. They are called either a roll off box or dumpster service here in the United States. The one with a cheap rate would be the one closer to our location. The price is determined by many different factors. The base price is determined by mileage however.

After the first search my curiosity sent me back to the internet to search out more information about the United Kingdom. The first search had sent me to the different skip hires in the UK, seeing that I decided to continue my search and I found out all about the drivers in the UK and what kind of drivers they hire over there.

I found out an HGV driver is a large vehicle driver. They have to take a similar test to get going in a professional driving career as well. The defensive test isn't called that in the UK. There is a two part written test called the theory test, one is a multiple choice test and the other one is a 14 part video clip where the person is placed behind the wheel and put in different driving situations and given a mouse to click a button to indicate the appropriate action for the situation.

The other test is an equivalent to the United States driving test, but in the United Kingdom it is called a Practical Test. It is the driving test with an examiner but that is where the similarities stop. The examiner is given three different types of faults; driving faults, serious faults, and dangerous faults. The driver is given up to 15 driving faults before is given a failing score and any serious or dangerous faults will automatically be given a failing grade.

There are websites available that are cheap that will help someone pass after a failure. There are even more that are not so cheap to help figure out why you failed and help you pass these tests. It seemed to me the theory test seems to be the one that most people have trouble with. The theory test once failed has a short waiting time period before you can try again. I didn't find anything over in the United Kingdom that is similar to our driving defensive tests. At such a short time in research I may find more about a defensive driving course, but didn't find anything on this first search.
